After the reducer leaves the factory, it has a running in period of about 200 hours based on its initial characteristics. The purpose of the running in period is to ensure the normal operation of the gearbox and reduce the failure rate. However, currently some users do not seem to know how to correctly apply the gearbox during the running in period. They only focus on efficiency and overload the gearbox, which not only leads to frequent faults in the later stage of the gearbox, but also reduces its normal service life. Therefore, the use and maintenance of the gearbox during the running in period should be given sufficient attention.
It is scientific to develop reasonable methods for application and maintenance based on several important characteristics of the running in period. Rapid wear, poor lubrication, loosening, leakage, and frequent operational errors are common phenomena during the running in period. Based on these phenomena, we have the following targeted methods:
1. The personnel operating the gearbox have some experience in operation and maintenance. Before operating the gearbox, it is necessary to read the user and maintenance manual, follow the requirements of the manual for operation and maintenance, and store the data for a long time to facilitate maintenance.
2. The operation of the reducer during the running in period should not exceed 85% of the rated working load, and the workload should be reasonably arranged by the staff to prevent continuous operation from causing the machine to overheat.
3. Attention should be paid to regular observation, and any abnormalities should be promptly stopped and eliminated. If the problem is not found, do not rush to start work. The gearbox cannot continue to work until the fault is resolved.
4. Pay attention to regularly checking the lubricating oil, hydraulic oil, coolant, oil level and quality, and check the sealing of the entire machine. During the inspection, it was found that there was an excessive lack of oil. While analyzing the cause, it is necessary to strengthen the lubrication of each lubrication point. It is recommended to add lubricating grease to the lubrication points every week during the running in period. When connecting a vertical gearbox with an oil pump to the power supply, pay attention to the direction of rotation of the oil pump, clockwise rotation is correct.
5. To prevent wear or loss of components, the gearbox should be kept clean and loose parts should be adjusted and tightened in a timely manner.
6. After the break in period is over, the machine should be subjected to mandatory maintenance, and while doing a good job of inspection and adjustment, attention should also be paid to the replacement of oil.
The above is the correct method for applying the reducer during the running in period. Maintain and upkeep the gearbox during the break in period as required to reduce the occurrence of early failures, extend its service life, and improve production efficiency.
